In the US market, the Honda Integra was sold under the Acura RSX name. In Japan, two versions of the model were available: the powerful and fast Type-R, and the more comfortable – iS. However, the Type-R was not sold in the US. Instead, the premium Type-S model was sold under the RSX badge.

A Brief Overview of the Honda RSX Type-S
The compact Type-S coupe, sold under the Acura brand, was primarily distinguished by its high level of comfort. The car’s performance was secondary. In terms of power, this model was positioned somewhere between the Japanese Type-R and iS models. To see this, one only needs to look at the Type-S engine. The 2.0-liter, inline-4, DOHC K20A engine produces 203 hp and 192 Nm of torque. The Japanese Type-R develops up to 220 hp and 205.8 Nm of torque, while the modest iS delivers 160 hp and 191.1 Nm of torque. The car was equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.

In 2004, sales of the iS were discontinued in Japan. The Type-S took its place. This model differed slightly from the US version. It retained the low power of 160 hp, inherited from the iS model, but received a bumper and wheel size like the Type-R. In addition, Honda changed the familiar shape of the headlights. Unfortunately, in 2006, due to a prolonged slump in the Japanese coupe market, Honda discontinued production of the Integra.
